According to the guru of organizational performance Peter F. Drucker, “Culture eats strategy for breakfast”, and that cultural diversity can provide companies with a competitive advantage in today’s global business environment. Some of today’s market leaders such as Google, Apple, Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and others have implemented progressive and company wide diversity and inclusion programs; and have shown increased employee engagement, leadership effectiveness, and increased profitability.
Dr. Jorge Mastrapa is an international speaker, researcher and human capital consultant, with a focus in Global Leadership, Organizational Culture, and High Performance Multicultural Teams development. He has over 20 years of experience developing and leading multinational teams, helping companies increase productivity and profitability, reducing costs of operations, and improving employee engagement and customer satisfaction.
He believes that in today’s multinational business environments, companies can take advantage of the new strategies in the areas of organizational culture, human capital development, and global leadership; to differentiate themselves from their competition, and to increase their market share and profitability. Cultural diversity can help organizations reduce the friction between a company leadership, their employees, and their customers; and allow them to reach their true potential.
Dr. Mastrapa has helped launch, develop, or turn around operations in companies such as Cisco Systems, UPS, IBM, NCR, HP, Flextronics, and many other Fortune 500 companies, and look forward to help your company as well.
Ilem Morales, LMHC
I arrived to the United States with my family at the age of fifteen. My father stayed in Cuba as a political prisoner; thankfully he was able to join us ten years later.
I enrolled in South Miami High School, only to drop out when I turned sixteen. I decided to take my GED and enrolled at Miami Dade Community College to pursue a college education.
I worked full time through out all my school years. It took me three years to complete MDCC. I was very lucky to be accepted into the Bachelor Degree in Psychology at Florida International University. I had fallen in love with the human mind, thus excelling in the program. Graduated from FIU in 2000 and decided to take a year off from school. I traveled extensively, visited Spain, England, Italy, France and other wonderful places. I was able to observe their culture and how it relates to the human natural ability to cope with emotions. My love for the field of psychology continued to grow.
I enrolled at the Master’s Level program at St. Thomas University, a program that enhanced my clinical skills and my passion for my profession. Graduated with Honors and recommendation from the faculty to pursue a Doctoral Degree in Clinical Psychology. I registered as an intern with the Board of Mental Health and began my practical experience. I was blessed with the guidance of Dr. Julietta Rodriguez, who was able to provide me with the skills to be a genuine clinician.
I became a License Professional in 2004. My work experience encompasses children, adolescent, adults and geriatrics. My passion is to work with children. I am so grateful for the opportunity I currently have at CHI, were I can work as a therapist and coordinator of a very special program.
I love my job and my profession. I get to be a part of a team that shapes the lives of our youth, to help them overcome their traumas and at times allow the reunification with their families.
My job has very special moments, for example yesterday I was part of a family reunification. Those are the moments that make our days special.
I hope to continue working to help our youth, to be a small part of their growth and emotional development. I am blessed with an amazing family and with coworkers that may every challenge more attainable.
